Mutations

Mutations in Grounded 2 are special perks that players can obtain to gain additional effects and buffs, aiding in survival, combat, and exploration. These perks are unlocked and upgraded by completing specific challenges and milestones throughout the world.

Players start with 2 active Mutation slots. This limit can be increased up to a maximum of 5 slots by spending Milk Molars. Players can also create up to 4 different Mutation Loadouts to quickly swap between sets of perks to adapt to any situation.

Fighting Styles

These mutations enhance your proficiency with specific weapon types.

Javelineer	Range is your greatest ally. Spear Master	Kill 40 creatures with spears. Kill 100 creatures with spears. Kill 200 creatures with spears.
Assassin	Dual weapons strike with critical precision. Daggers and sickles deal bonus damage with critical hits.	* Assassin: Daggers and sickles deal bonus critical hit damage. Dagger Master	Kill 40 creatures with daggers. Kill 100 creatures with daggers. Kill 200 creatures with daggers.

Whittle Wizard	Unleash the full power of candy staves. Sizzle burns brighter and frozen foes shatter spectacularly.	* Whittle Wizard: Enhances the effects of elemental staves. Staff Master	Kill 40 creatures with staves. Kill 100 creatures with staves. Kill 200 creatures with staves.

Combat Abilities

These mutations grant tactical advantages and enhance general combat mechanics.

Ambush	Lurking in the shadows, you've mastered the art of ambushing creatures to deliver Yoked Blows!	* Ambush: Deal critical hits against creatures unaware of your presence. Cloak and Dagger: Ambush attacks with daggers greatly increase critical hit damage.	Land 30 ambush attacks. Land 80 ambush attacks. Land 150 ambush attacks.
Frenzy	Deal increased damage with melee weapons and regenerate health while enraged. Perfect block timing is reduced.	* Frenzy: Increased melee damage and health regeneration while enraged.	Defeat the Mysterious Stranger.
Guard Dog	Guarding locations has awakened your protective instincts. Deal increased damage to creatures in defense events.	* Defender: Attack Up: Deal increased damage to creatures during defense events (e.g. MIX.Rs).	Complete 1 MIX.R event. Complete 4 MIX.R events. Complete 9 MIX.R events.

Exploration

These mutations improve movement speed and your ability to discover the secrets of the park.

Trapper PEEP.R	Deep knowledge of park creatures etched into your memory gives you a chance to perform powerful critical hits.	* Yoked Blows: Grants a chance to land powerful critical hits.	Collect 25 Gold Cards. Collect 50 Gold Cards. Collect 75 Gold Cards.

Survival

These mutations increase your resistance to environmental hazards and negative status effects.

Cardio Fan	Exhausting your tiny body over and over again, your cells adopt a more efficient respiration process.	* Hyperstamina: Increases stamina regeneration. Exhaustion: Decreases stamina consumption.	Deplete stamina 100 times. Deplete stamina 250 times. Deplete stamina 500 times.
Reliable Friend	Life in the park is filled with narrow escapes, and you've left no teen or Buggy behind! Revive allies faster.	* Revive Speed: Increases the speed at which you revive allies.	Revive 5 allies. Revive 15 allies. Revive 30 allies.
Fresh Defense	A plume of mint dust envelopes you. Cells activate a layer to combat the sting of all that stinks and burns.	* Sizzle Reduction Burn Resistance Gas Resistance	Eat 1 mint shard. Eat 5 mint shards. Eat 10 mint shards.
Spicy Safety	Spicy sediment seeps inside your bloodstream. The fiery fragments protect you from the Chill.	* Chill Reduction Freeze Resistance Shatter Resistance	Eat 1 spicy shard. Eat 5 spicy shards. Eat 10 spicy shards.
Mithridatism	Your body has been ravaged by venom coursing through so many times that it has built up a permanent resistance.	* Venom Reduction Venom Resistance	Kill 5 venomous creatures. Kill 50 venomous creatures. Kill 150 venomous creatures.
