This page provides a detailed walkthrough for the Egg Hunt story quest in Grounded 2. The primary objective is to retrieve a Soldier Ant Egg from the depths of the Hatchery Anthill.

Walkthrough
The quest begins upon entering the Hatchery Anthill. The main navigational guide throughout the location is a set of intertwined red, white, and blue wires running along the ceiling.
Steps to Retrieve the Egg
- Prepare for the expedition by crafting several Torches, as the anthill is extremely dark. Collect Slime Mold Stalks near the entrance if needed.
- Upon entering, locate the red, white, and blue intertwined wires on the ceiling. Following these wires is the primary method for navigating to the final room.
- Follow the wires until the first major intersection with Ominent consoles directly ahead.
- Take the left path from the intersection. Follow the large black wire on the ground, then take a right when the intertwined wires reappear. This leads to an Ominent lab room containing a bed and a Water Cooler. This room serves as a safe point.
- Exit the lab, turn right, and continue following the large black wire to another set of consoles. Pick up the folder on the console to obtain the Taming Program Update key item.
- Take the path to the right of the consoles. Proceed until a red-lit Ominent lab door is visible on the left. Enter it.
- Inside this lab, collect the Egg Credit item from the table. The ant eggs in this room are for experimental purposes and are not the quest objective. Exit through the middle door.
- Continue following the red, white, and blue wires. You will pass another lab containing food and bandages; the eggs here should also be ignored.
- After the third lab, approach the console on the left and then take the path immediately to its right.
- Keep following the wires. This path leads to the final chamber, a large room illuminated by floodlights. Several Soldier Ant Eggs are on the ground.
- The room is guarded by a Red Soldier Ant. Defeat it to safely access the eggs.
- Pick up one of the eggs from the ground. With the egg secured, exit the anthill by following the same three-colored wires back to the entrance.
Quest Completion
After retrieving the egg, the quest objective is complete. The next task in the story will involve hatching the newly acquired egg, likely requiring an Incubator.
Completing the Egg Hunt quest unlocks the Red Soldier Ant Buggy. This mount lets you move faster, jump higher, and carry extra items or building materials. It is one of the two currently available buggies in the game.
