From Grounded 2 Wiki

Gear

Grounded 2 introduces a familiar yet enhanced tool and gear system. Melee weapons like spears, swords, and clubs return from the first game; for example, players will start with a pebblet spear early on. Armor pieces and weapon tiers are also expected to expand, incorporating bug parts and new materials, similar to the original game. However, exact statistics haven't been publicly released yet.

The most significant new addition is the Omni-Tool. This all-in-one device functions as a hammer, axe, shovel, and wrench. This means you no longer need to constantly switch tools when chopping, mining, or building—the Omni-Tool handles everything, significantly reducing inventory clutter. This versatile tool can be crafted or obtained early in the game, consolidating the roles of the four original tools.

Crafting System

The crafting system in Grounded 2 continues to revolve around the Research Station and Work Bench. Players gather raw materials such as sap, grass, fibers, and bug parts. These materials are then analyzed in the lab to unlock new recipes, which are subsequently crafted at work benches. For instance, in the demo, a player "gathers sap and grass blades, analyzes them at a research station, and crafts the recipes... from a work bench." Over time, new crafting recipes (weapons, armor, consumables) will be added, but features beyond the Omni-Tool haven't been detailed yet. Armor crafting will likely utilize new tier 4 materials, such as "cockroach parts" from cockroaches. Weapons will probably include updated versions of Grounded 1 favorites (e.g., upgraded pebblet spears, bone swords) or perhaps bug-themed tech weapons.

Omni-Tool Multi-purpose tool combining hammer, axe, shovel, and wrench. Saves inventory space and speeds up gathering and building.
Basic Weapons Spears, daggers, clubs from the original game return (e.g., pebble spear seen in demo). Early weapons have low damage; stronger versions unlock later.
Armor Sets Tiered armors made from bug parts (e.g., chitin) and new materials. Exact stats unknown, but expect tier progression similar to the original.
Crafting Station The Research Station and Workbench are used as before to unlock and craft new recipes.
