Grounded 2's armory and gear follow familiar patterns with some enhancements. Melee weapons like spears, swords, and clubs return (e.g., the player uses a pebble spear in early gameplay). Armor pieces and weapon tiers are expected to extend as before (based on bug parts and new materials), although exact stats aren't public yet. The big new addition is the Omni-Tool: an all-in-one device that functions as the hammer, axe, shovel, and wrench. This means you no longer need to switch tools when chopping, mining, or building – the Omni-Tool handles it all, greatly reducing inventory clutter. (It's crafted or obtained early in the game, combining the roles of four original tools.)

Crafting is still based around the Research Station and Workbench. Players gather raw materials (sap, grass, fibers, bug parts, etc.) and analyze them in the lab to unlock recipes, which are then built at workbenches. For example, in the demo the player "gathers sap and grass blades, analyzes them at a research station, and builds the recipes... from a workbench." New crafting recipes (weapons, armor, consumables) will be added over time, but specifics beyond the Omni-Tool have not been detailed yet. Armor crafting presumably uses new tier-4 materials (like "roach parts" from the cockroach), and weapons likely include updated versions of Grounded 1 favorites (e.g., upgraded pebble spears, bone swords, maybe insect-themed tech weapons).
