Brookhollow Park

Grounded 2 transports players to Brookhollow Park, a 1992 suburban wilderness that's nearly as expansive as the entire backyard from the first game. The starting zone alone is the size of the original map, and once complete, the park is expected to be about three times larger than Grounded's map. This new setting introduces a variety of distinct regions and biomes:

  • Overturned Ice Cream Cart (Icy Biome): This frozen, snow-and-ice area formed by a tipped-over ice cream cart features slick surfaces and frosty enemies. Preview imagery confirms a "spilled-out" ice cream cart terrain.
  • Spooky Anthill: A large ant colony mound, described as a "spooky" anthill biome, likely home to numerous ants and potentially new queen-bug encounters.
  • Picnic Table Blanket / Park Grassland: These areas feature giant picnic blankets, benches, and forested patches. One preview shows a tangled picnic blanket draped over a bench, leading to an iced beverage container interior region. These spots are ideal for finding plants like grass blades and clovers, and for setting up initial bases.
  • Trash and Snack Bar Areas: Scattered junkyards and old snack stands, such as a Punch-O soda cart, provide valuable scrap materials. The Xbox Wire overview mentions snack bars and toppled carts throughout the park.
  • Ice-Cream and Frosty Spots: Beyond the main ice cream cart, expect other "cold" pockets, like iced soda machines and popsicle remnants, scattered across the park.
  • Unique Locations: Grounded 2 will include special points of interest similar to the "Sites & Wonders" from the first game. Examples might be an abandoned glasshouse greenhouse, a courtyard statue, or a decrepit soda fountain, each potentially holding rare loot or quests (though not fully revealed yet). The familiar map zones from Grounded (like "Grasslands," "Hedge," and "Koi Pond") are replaced by similarly themed subzones within Brookhollow.

Each biome in Brookhollow Park will feature distinct enemies and resources. For instance, the icy area might yield ice shards (a new crafting material) and house frost-spider variants, while the anthill will provide ant parts and new challenges. As Grounded 2 is an early access title, the full map will unlock gradually through updates. However, the known parks and zones suggest a nostalgic 90s backyard transformed into a playground of peril. Exploration will be highly rewarded, with secret caches and brand-specific easter eggs (like hidden Punch-O ads) scattered throughout the environment.
