'''Grounded 2''' features a familiar yet enhanced set of '''tools and gear'''. Melee weapons like spears, swords, and clubs are back from '''Grounded'''; for example, you'll start with a pebblet spear early on. Armor pieces and tool tiers are also expected to expand, incorporating bug parts and new materials, much like in the original game. However, since the game hasn't been released yet, these are not clear, I will add new information as it is confirmed.
'''Armor''' is essential for defending against the many dangers in the backyard. You can craft different types of armor pieces from resources like acorns. Some armor even gives you special status effects, such as '''improved stamina''', '''hauling strength''', or '''damage reduction'''.

The biggest new addition is the '''Omni-Tool'''. This all-in-one device works as a hammer, axe, shovel, and wrench. This means you won't need to constantly swap tools when chopping, mining, or building—the Omni-Tool handles everything, significantly cutting down on inventory clutter. This versatile tool can be crafted or found early in the game, combining the functions of the four original tools.
If you wear a full 3-piece armor set, you'll get an '''armor set bonus''' that activates. Just like tools, all armor can be upgraded at the '''Smithing Station''' to boost its defense and durability. Plus, if you choose the '''Sleek path''' when upgrading, your armor might even gain a unique effect.

The Omni-Tool: One tool to rule them all. Axe, hammer, shovel, wrench—streamlined into one smart solution to free up your backpack and simplify your builds (This description for Omni-Tool is taken from the developer notes).

Armor

Armor is essential for defending against the many dangers in the backyard. You can craft different types of armor pieces from resources like acorns. Some armor even gives you special status effects, such as improved stamina, hauling strength, or damage reduction.

If you wear a full 3-piece armor set, you'll get an armor set bonus that activates. Just like tools, all armor can be upgraded at the Smithing Station to boost its defense and durability. Plus, if you choose the Sleek path when upgrading, your armor might even gain a unique effect.

Armor Sets Tiered armors made from bug parts (e.g., chitin) and new materials. Exact stats unknown, but expect tier progression similar to the original.
Crafting Station The Research Station and Workbench are used as before to unlock and craft new recipes.
